Video call etiquette for remote workers

Video calls are where many remote teams spend a lot of time, and small habits make a big difference.

Join a minute early with your camera at eye level, a plain background and light in front of you instead of behind. Test your microphone, and mute it when you are not speaking.

Look at the camera when you talk, avoid typing loudly and close unrelated tabs. If you need to step away, say so in the chat.

Share an agenda beforehand, end on time and send a short summary with next steps. Respecting everyone’s time is the best impression you can make.
