12 remote job interview questions and how to answer them
Remote interviewers test three things: can you do the work, can you communicate in writing, and can you manage yourself. Expect questions that probe all three.
Common questions include "How do you stay organised without a manager nearby?", "Tell me about a time you solved a problem alone" and "How do you handle a teammate in a different time zone?". Answer each with a short real example: the situation, what you did and the result.
You will also be asked about your setup. Be ready to confirm a stable internet connection, a quiet workspace and a backup plan for power cuts. Interviewers want to know work will not stop when something goes wrong.
End by asking your own questions: how the team communicates, how success is measured in the first 90 days and how often people meet live. Good questions show you already think like a remote teammate.
